MY FIRST BOOK series Reviews
What surprised me the most was how much Ashlynn liked the books. I thought since they didn't tell a story she'd be too advanced for them, turns out they offer so much more than just the basic concepts for baby. After receiving the books a week ago, she has pulled out the Musical Instruments version almost daily. She now correctly identifies trumpets, violins ("bi-lin"), flutes, and saxophones in addition to the pianos and guitars that initially captured her attention from familiarity. She'll tell me all the colors included on each page, which ones are not in sequence (which flute is backwards? what pianos are upside down?), and of course count how many on each page. Each of the books offer similar concepts so there is always a concept to work on as your child grows from baby to toddler. These would definitely be a great shower gift, especially if the hostesses are collecting a "library". I'm planning on bringing them with on vacation to pull out while waiting for meals out. Something to capture Kenley's attention other than silverware and something to keep Ashlynn engaged and learning and not begging for our phones or tablet by Erinn |

I have yet to come across a book that has had me absolutely floored. That was until I heard about My First Book Series [...] Being an elementary teacher I know the importance of early reading. This book series has surpassed my expectations and then some! The quality of the books is fabulous too! [...] These books would certainly make the perfect baby shower gift!!! By Sarah |
The My First Book series is fantastic for babies. [...] They're the perfect size for babies little hands and are a sturdy board book for that teething stage that Graham is currently in. Even at nearly 4, Addie is also digging the books but she is my bookworm![..] They make a great baby shower gift to start out new babies book collection. by Stephanie |
The “My First Book” series by Sophie Helenek is a great tool to actively engage and interact with your little ones from birth. Consisting of 4 differently themed board books, they introduce younger babies to concepts such as eye stimulation, listening skills, and developing their senses. Toddler-aged kiddos can use them to help with letter/word recognition, memory, spelling, and more.[...] The books are a great size for little ones and feature super sturdy pages. They just may have even held up during the girls’ fun “books are for chewing” stage.[...] I’m very impressed with the “My First Book” series. I love that it can grow with your child and is appropriate from infancy all the way up to toddlerhood. Oh, and the books are affordable too! by Wendy |

These books are fantastic. My niece loved them. I personally loved the colors. They were not just in black and white. They included other colors like yellow and shades of blue and green. It kept my niece stimulated. The colors and shapes completely intrigued her. I am going to a baby shower in a few weeks and instead of a card they have asked for a book instead, I will definitely be taking one of these. If given the choice I will always buy an educational gift over clothes for a baby. These children are our future. Love these books. |
[...] B instantly seemed fascinated with the pictures; he smiles and gurgles at them during tummy time, and he stares intently when we pull them out to read. While reading one word per two pages isn't necessarily the most interesting task for an adult, it's easy to see B is totally engaged. [...] The biggest surprise with the My First Book Series is how much L enjoys it. She routinely brings us "Brady's books" to read to him and will stop whatever she's otherwise busy with to listen. [...] I think these books would be the perfect addition to your infant's library or a wonderful gift for a new mom! You've officially earned yourself four new fans! by Elefantitas Alegres |
[...] I have found this sturdy board book set to have great color contrasting in the pictures. They are not too busy or distracting yet hold the kid’s attention fairly well. The patterns and shapes are also great for teaching and engaging with the child as they grow. By Emily Evert |
[...] These books are the perfect size for little ones to hold and enjoy. The bright colors really keep their attention. Being a mom, when I first started reading to my little ones I always chose brightly colored books. At a young age, the story is great but brightly colored pictures and shapes are really what keeps their attention. by Ashley |
[...] E has such a fascination with these books. The moment I opened up the mail while she was eating lunch, I sat down next to her and we started flipping through. I had never gone over musical instruments with her before (being that hubby and I are not very musically inclined) and after going through the book once, she had almost all the instruments down. The next day, my husband went through the book with her and she pointed out her current favorite page and said "Trumpet!" while making the most hilarious sound possible, and he was amazed. She also sticks her hand out and pretends to play the violin when she sees that page. And I crack up. [...] Looking at the books has helped her recognize so many items and she's already increased her ever-growing vocabulary just from flipping through them. She can now recognize the difference between a pineapple and an apple, and can hand me the correct book depending on which title I ask from her.[...] This series is the perfect place to start - and makes a wonderful gift for moms-to-be, brand new babies, and growing tots alike. by |
My girls love them and I love seeing their little eyes full of fun whilst "reading" them! Friends check 'em out.....for your little ones, for showers, for Christmas, or just because you love 'em! by Sarah |
